Is there an option not to get one's head soaked in the water while doing the Kawarau Bridge Bungy in Queenstown?

Comments

Yes, of course! You have the choice to do the water touch when you arrive at the Kawarau Bridge Bungy. Not everyone can have their head dunked as you have to be a certain weight, and you can always choose to just bungy without the head dunk.

Is it ok to do the Kawarau Bridge bungee jump on the same day I leave Queenstown by plane? With skydiving it is not recommended to fly straight away.

Comments

There is absolutely no problem bungy jumping or skydiving before or after your fly in a plane. This rule only applies to scuba diving under the water where you can't fly in a plane for a period of time after (usually 12-24 hours depending on how many dives you've done).

we will be in queenstown mid-july. my husband is 53 and want to do a jump for the first time. Is it recommended?

Comments

Bungy jumping in Queenstown is something that anyone can do. People in their 80's and even 90's have done it so I'm sure your husband will be fine! Of course if he does have any medical issues that you are concerned about then always best to consult your physician first. The good thing about the Kawarau bridge bungy jump is that its over water and you can do a tandem with each other if you want. Best to book in advance as this is popular.

Hi

Me and 12y.o. son would like to do tandem jump with water touch. My weight is about 50kg, but he's a bit lighter then 35kg. Can we still go tandem?

Regards
Inna

Comments

Hi Inna. Unfortunately the individual minimum weight requirement of 35kg is still the same for tandem bungy jumps. Its has to do with the way a person lighter than 35kg responds to the forces associated with the heavy bungy cord etc. If he is 35kg or over then no worries but if he's lighter then he wont be able to jump at this stage I'm sorry. If you're up for a bigger challenge then you could do the Shotover Canyon Swing tandem which is 109 metres or the Nevis Swing as a tandem. Out of these two swings the Canyon Swing is the most like a bungy, in fact you really wouldn't know the difference as you are still able to jump off, where as the Nevis Swing is more of a passive option with a jump master releasing you so no leap of faith required and thus not quite as thrilling.

Hi there!
How much are the photos or/and video please?
Hope to hearing from you soon!
thank you!!! :-)
Elizandra

Comments

Hi Elizandra, the Bungy photos and DVD cost $45 each. Alternatively, if you want both the photos and DVD then the cost is $80. These do not need to be pre purchased and instead you just purchase these on the day of your bungy.

Hi I've bungy jumped before and this time I was hoping to wear my wristmounted GoPro - is it allowed on this bungy jump? Many thanks!

Comments

Hi Maerii, GoPro's are allowed subject to the jump master checking them on the day. The jump master will check the strapping of the GoPro and how it is attached to you and if they are satisfied that it is mounted safely then you will be allowed to jump with it. The jump master will have the final say on the day as to whether or not you can jump with it.

What is the price for two adults wanting to jump together?

Comments

Hi Grace. You can tandem bungy jump from the Kawarau bridge in Queenstown however the price is the same per person as it is if you jump solo. So this is currently $180 per person. Did you want the free bus transfers out to the bridge from Queenstown (25 minutes each way) or will you be driving yourself?

hi, im bringing the family to NZ in dec. we want to do the kawarau bungy jump. ill go solo, but the wife and 14 year old son want to go tandem. can you give me a price for a tandem jump - 1 adult, 1 child please?

Comments

Hi Jason,

Sounds like a great plan. You will need to book in advance as around December there are days where Bungy is booked out.

Prices normally go up on the 1st of October however currently the price is $180 per Adult and $130 for children 15 years and under. Therefore it will cost $310 for your wife and son to jump.

I was wondering if you booked for a time is that when you jump or what time you have to be there by

Comments

Hi Ella. In regards to the AJ Hackett Kawarau Bridge bungy in Queenstown, it depends on whether you require return courtesy transfers from Queenstown or whether you will be making your own way to the bungy bridge located 25 minutes drive out of town? If you require the free bus transfer from Queenstown then the time you book is the time the bus departs Queenstown and you will be jumping about an hour after this time. eg. if you book the 9am bungy then you will need to check in at the bungy centre in Queenstown by 8.30am and the bus will depart at 9am. Yo will arrive at the bungy bridge at about 9.30am and you will jump anytime between 10am and 11am and then return back to Queenstown by 12pm. If you don't require transfers from Queenstown then the time you book is the time you jump which means you need to check in about 20 minutes before this time at the bungy bridge.

hi my name is zak i am from the us and i am 13 years old i was wondering with your bungy jumping company do you have to go into the water or is their another one where you dont have to go in the water?

Comments

Hi Zak. The Kawarau bridge bungy jump in Queenstown is over water and you can request to get dunked in the river however if you prefer not to then the jump master will shorten the bungy cord a little so that you dont touch the water and stay dry.

How much is it for a tandem bungy jump for a child

Comments

Hi Baleigh,

The Child price for a Bungy Jump from the Kawarau Bungy Bridge is $130 and includes the certificate and official jumpers only T-shirt. It is the same price whether they jump by themselves or as a tandem.

Thanks,

Nigel

Hi my 15 year old daughter would like to do the jump but as a tandem with my 20 year old daughter. What would be the cost ? Thanks, Sharon

Comment by: Sharon on 23rd Dec 12 at 14:41

Hi Sharon. The cost to do the Kawarau bungy in Queenstown is the same per person if they jump tandem or solo. So it would cost $180 per adult and $130 per child. You can just book 1 adult & 1 child via the Book Now button on our website.

Comment by: Everything Travel Group (Callum) on 23rd Dec 12 at 17:40

If I was to do a tandem jump with my sister (both adults) would the total cost be $360? Just wanting to be sure.

Comment by: Jasmine on 11th Jan 13 at 20:19

Hi Jasmine, yes that is correct. You still pay $180 per person for a Tandem jump.

Hi,

Where abouts are you guys exactly from Queenstown, and can we turn up without booking. On another note, do you guys jump just with the lower leg harness, or full harness? I feel more comfortable with the latter!

Antony.

Comments

Hi Antony. The Kawarau bungy bridge is located 20kms out of Queenstown on state highway 6. You can turn up to the Kawarau bungy bridge without booking however this is not advisable as there are often large group bookings and you may find that there is no availability for you. All bungy bookings come with free transfers from Queenstown or you are welcome to drive out to the bungy site yourself but we do advise to book in advance. Both an ankle and body harness are used at the same time for extra safety. If you check out the 3rd image at the top of the page you can see clearly both the lower leg and also the waist harness.

What are the restrictions (weight?) on the tandem - and how are your attached together?

Comments

Hi Mary, the difference in weight to do a tandem jump at the Kawarau Bungy cannot be more than 30kg. The maximum weight that the bungy can take at once is 235kg. You are attached by a harness.

Hi Emma, the 43m AJ Hackett Bridge bungy is generally not affected by weather and operates everyday (except Christmas day) throughout the year. If for some reason it is closed then you would be offered a chance to reschedule or a full refund but this is extremely unlikely.

Do we have to book before we go? Do you usually fill up?

Comments

Hi Sara.
If you plan on taking advantage of the free return transfers from town the AJ Hackett Kawarau Bungy Bridge located 20 minutes out of town then you do need to book in advance as the bus does fill up. If you want to drive yourself to the Kawraua bridge then you can just show up and book & pay when you arrive but there are often large tour groups (Kiwi Experience, Stray & Contiki etc) that book out several hours of jump slots at a time so we do always recommend booking in advance.
