Hi there my fiance n i are getting married in February 2021 here in Auckland. The weather in January is usually great for both morning and afternoon. Occasionally we get some low lying clouds in the morning, which usually clear by the afternoon. I would recommend booking a flight for the first day of your trip as this means you are able to reschedule if it is cancelled due to bad weather conditions. If there is only one day that you can book the flight, then definitely book the morning slot as you could then hopefully reschedule for the afternoon if the weather wasn't suitable.

May i know how much weight possible in one time?how height it will fly?
Hello, They do not inform us of the max weight of the helicopter but they do have a rough one. We need to inform them of your weights at the time of booking and they will arrange the helicopters accordingly. There is no real max weight limit for an individual they will just put less people on the heli. They fly up to the top of the Remarkables mountain which is 2319m.

Heya, Yes the helicopter can take 6 people. We will need the weights of the 6 people however as there is a weight limit. They do not tell us the weight limit as there are so many variables you just need to send in your weights and we can confirm whether its possible (it normally always is). Heya, A snow landing is not guaranteed. It depends if there has been snowfall. We had some in March randomly but full snowfall is not expected until June.
Also, if we can't fly because of weather and if I can't reschedule the flight, will I be entitled to a full refund?

Children under 4 years of age travel for free on the helicopter flights in Queenstown so you would need to pay for 3 people and your 1 year old travels for free. There is usually plenty of snow around in September but there are no guarantees. If you want to guarantee a snow landing at any time of the year then I suggest booking the Alpine Snow Landing flight which has a special at 3pm each day also.

Yes kids 4 years and under are free of charge on the Remarkables helicopter flight in Queenstown so you would just need to pay for 3 adults. If you're not sure on dates I suggest booking for one of your first days in town so that if the weather is no good for flying you can reschedule to another day. If you book now and then decide later than you want to change the date then you can just contact us and we'll do it for you free of charge. Once you book online via our website we will email your booking confirmation straight back.

I have just spoken with the helicopter pilots and your partner is certainly able to do a scenic flight in Queenstown with his leg in a cast. The back door of the helicopter is quite wide and the pilot will take care helping your partner in and out of the heli. What date are you thinking of booking for?

Hi Karina, yes your 3 year old is welcome on the Remarkables Heli flight and will travel free of charge. Children under 4 are free however please note in the "additional information" field when you make your booking online that you have a 3 year old travelling with you.

Hi Cleo. The Remarkables helicopter flight from Queenstown operates all year however it only lands in the snow when there is snow around during the winter months. In late October it is possible there will be snow on mountains but there are no guarantees unfortunately. If you do want a snow landing for sure then you can book the Cecil Peak snow landing helicopter flight that guarantees a snow landing all year.

Hi Jessica. The helicopters that fly the scenic flights in Queenstown can only hold up to 6 passengers so if you have a group of 7 then we would have to spread you out between 2 helicopters. This is not a problem but it just means that you wont all be in the same helicopter.

Hi Rochelle. You wont see the 3.30pm Remarkables helicopter special advertised in Queenstown as you do need to book in in advance. There are limited spaces available each day so I recommend booking asap. If the weather is no good for flying then you can reschedule to another day, use the credit towards another activity or receive a full refund.
Hey Im really interested in booking this but just wondered why in particular 3.30pm there is a special? Is there not clear visability at that time due to clouds or something? Also the helicopter is obviously a weather dependant activity, what happens if we arent able to fly due to poor weather? - beacause we are in queenstown for a short amount of time

The 3.30pm Remarkables special helicopter flight in Queenstown is exactly the same as the normal flight however it's cheaper at 3.30pm as this is a quiet time of the day for the helicopters and by offering a special the helicopter can get some use. Yes, the helicopter flights are weather dependent so if the weather is no good for flying and you are unable to reschedule then you are eligible for a full refund.

Hi Jaimee. Yes there is currently space for your group of 4 people on the Remarkables helicopter flight in Queenstown on the 7th June. The cost is $135 per person and the helicopter can take up to 6 passengers (depending on weights and heights etc). The weather is pretty changeable that time of the year and we normally get a snow dump early in the season so there is a good chance that there will be a fair bit of snow around but no guarantees. Town will be starting to fill up with the annual winter festival starting on the 20th June so I would recommend booking in advance. If you book via our website you are welcome to change your dates without any additional cost as long as you do it at least 48 hours prior to your flight departing.

Yes it is possible to take your group of 6 people in the one helicopter on the Remarkables scenic helicopter flight in Queenstown so long as the combined weight for all 6 passengers does not exceed 480kg. There is currently space on the morning of the 18th September and return hotel transfers are also included in the price.

Hi there Nic. Yes, if you book a scenic helicopter flight in Queenstown then you are more than welcome to bring a couple of bottles of beer or a bottle of champagne with you in a small bag. You won't be able to consume these in the helicopter but once you land on top of the Remarkbales mountain and disembark the helicopter you will have some time to take in the views and celebrate with a drink if you choose.
I am enquiring about a helicopter flight from Queenstown to any nearby glacier and be dropped off for around 4 hours (my partner and I) with a picnic basket and drinks (supplied by ourselves or you) and picked back up by helicopter and returned to Queenstown. Its my partners 40th birthday and I want to do something private and special. Don't mind if we share the helicopter but just not the private time on glacier. Any suggestions and price for charter? Looking at booking on 18th October 2013.

There is a glacier landing heli experience however this only allows 10 minutes on the glacier and not enough time for you to have a picnic. If you wanted to do this you would need to charter the helicopter and then you could have 30-45 minutes on the glacier as the pilot will then shut down the machine between landing and take off. The cost for this is $1700 and you would have the helicopter (6 seats) to yourself. If this is of interest let us know and we can book for you.

Hi Nicole. The 3.30pm Remarkables helicopter special is $135 per person and is available every day of the week all year. It is $90 cheaper than the standard price and is exactly the same flight and includes a landing on top of the Remarkables mountain range. It does often get booked up as it is very popular so I recommend booking sooner rather than later.

Hi Russell. Yes the Remarkables helicopter charter flight is the exact same flight as the 20 minute Remarkables flight with a mountain landing except that you get the helicopter and pilot to yourselves. The helicopter can take up to 6 passengers (weight restrictions apply).

Hi Katherine. Up to 6 passengers average size people can fit in each helicopter. The maximum laoding weight per helicopter is 480kgs (1000lbs) plus the pilot. If there are more than 6 passengers or the weight of the total group is too heavy then you can book a second helicopter.

Hi Briana. If you are booking a private helicopter flight in Queenstown then up to 6 passengers at an average of 80kgs each can go in the helicopter. So the max weight limit for everyone (except the pilot) is 480kgs.

Hi Annie. The 3.30pm Special is exactly the same helicopter flight in Queenstown except that it operates at 3.30pm at a cheaper price. The Private Charter is the same flight also, it is just a cheaper option if you have a small group or if you wish to do a private flight with no other customers on board. The helicopters take u to 6 passengers so if there are 4 or more of you then it is cheaper to book a Private Charter flight than paying individually for single seats. If you book the Private Charter then you can request a preferred departure time.

Yes we can arrange large group bookings. The helicopter company you are looking at are specialists in moving large volumes of people so 17 in the morning will be no problem as they have many helicopters. The key to getting this organised will be booking in advance.

Hi Rebecca. Yes minimum numbers do apply for the helicopter to run for the Remarkalbes flight. It only requires 2 to confirm the trip though so it is still worth booking as more often than not there will be at least 2 people booked. If not you are entitled to a full refund or the option to reschedule for another day.

Hi Jeff. Yes the Remarkables Helicopter flight in Queenstown does include a landing on the Remarkables mountain range where you can get out of the heli and take pictures. During winter this is usually a snow landing! You will be dropped back into town or your hotel after your flight.
