What you can expect
Join us at the crack of dawn for an exciting hot air balloon ride over Hamilton. Take to the sky and enjoy a peaceful, serene and relaxing flight as you absorb views of Hamilton city, its surrounding lush farmland, bush clad mountains and the roaring Waikato River. On a clear day you can even see the mountains of Ruapehu, Pirongia, Te Aroha and Taranaki.
Your day will begin watching the mighty balloon inflate before jumping into the basket for your scenic flight. Each tour is different as you travel in the direction of the winds flow. After your flight the chase vehicle will meet you and drive you back to Hamilton where you will enjoy a complimentary tea, coffee and snacks.

- Early morning (before sunrise between 5.30am & 7am depending on season)

- Is there an age limit for the Hot Air Balloons in Hamilton? Children must be at least 7 years old (no infants) to go in the Hot Air Balloons in Hamilton
- Do you offer transportation from Auckland? If not, can you recommend the best transportation for us to get there? The hot air ballooning departs from Innes Common, Hamilton Lake. This is a 90 minute drive from Auckland (or 3 hours if you are taking the train/bus). Unfortunately there are no transport options from Auckland inclided in this tour. I would advise hiring a car and/or staying the night in Hamilton before hand as its an early start and there are no guarantees the balloon flight will go head with weather.
- Can we book the entire hot air balloon ride in Hamilton? If yes, how much would it cost? Yes, this is possible, but given how popular the ballooning is, the cost to private charter the entire balloon is much the same as the cost to book per person. Please contact us for group/private charter rates and availability.
- Flights routes may vary due to weather and at the pilot's discretion
- The balloon can hold up to a maximum of 10 people depending on the total weight of passengers
- Dress warmly as it can be very cold early in the morning
- Sunglasses are strongly recommended
- Children must be at least 7 years old (no infants) for safety reasons
- Flights are weather dependent, we recommend booking for one of your first days in Queenstown so that if your flight is cancelled due to poor weather you can reschedule to another day
