What you can expect

If you're looking for a small, intimate cruise of the world renowned Milford Sound, Mitre Peak Cruises is the one for you. Be amazed by the incredible views of Milford, one of the most surreal and stunning places in the world. The smaller Mitre Peak boats allow you to get up close to spots that the larger boats aren't able to giving you an unparalleled viewing experience.

The coach trip

  • You will travel in comfort, style and luxury by coach from Queenstown to Milford and back. The friendly and knowledgeable drivers are there to ensure you don’t miss anything with stops at multiple scenic spots. You will board the boat at mid day, embarking on a cruise that will astound you. On your way back, the boat will make a refreshment stop in the lovely Te Anau before heading on to Queenstown for the remainder of the journey.

The boat ride

  • The knowledgeable guides will provide you with informative commentary and fascinating facts whilst alerting you to notable sights including the 160 metre Bowen falls, the quintessential valley the Sinbad Gully, magnificent Mount Pembroke with its snow-capped peak and the grand Mitre Peak, which, starting from the ocean floor, measures a staggering 1,692 metres.

The boat offers you the perfect vantage point to view endangered fur seals, once almost extinct due to hunting, the elusive Fiordland crested penguins and playful dusky dolphins.

Milford is a sight to behold come rain or shine!

Andy, our guide, was so versed with all his facts and stories of the whole region. He included and encouraged all of us to participate in communicating. He was fun to have guiding us on the trip.
