- Does the Tasman Taster helicopter flight tour in Mt Cook include a glacier landing? If so, how long would the landing be for? The Tasman Taster helicopter flight does not include a landing on the Tasman Glacier. Instead, you will experience a spectacular 10 minute alpine landing in the Mt Cook National Park to capture some amazing photos! For a glacier landing, we recommend the Glacier Highlights helicopter flight.
- Would the 10 minute alpine landing in Mt Cook National Park be in addition to the 25 minute helicopter flight? The flight experience lasts for 25 minutes in total, with around 10-15 minutes in the air and approximately 10 minutes for landing.
- Please arrive 45 minutes prior to your flight time
- You will have 10-15 minutes landing time. This is enough time to take photos & enjoy the sheer beauty of the surrounding environment
- If your flight is cancelled due to bad weather you can reschedule or contact us for a full refund
- Child rates apply (0-12yrs)
- Infants (0-3yrs) must sit on their parent's lap (seatbelt extension provided)
- Children over 3 years must have their own seat
- This trip requires a minimum of 2 adults to run
- What you should bring: sunglasses, camera, closed/covered shoes, warm clothing - it's usually around 10 degrees on the glacier so wear a couple of layers
- Please note that bookings from April 1st 2026, will incur a $20 surcharge payable on the day of your booking. Surcharges will be collected directly at check-in, at the base
