Departing from Frankton Marina, you’ll step aboard a comfortable boat powered by an electric trolling motor for a quiet and steady ride. Using trolling lines and downriggers, you’ll have the chance to target lake trout and salmon while taking in the calm surroundings. Your skipper will share local knowledge and fishing techniques to help you make the most of your time on the water.

As you explore Lake Wakatipu, enjoy clear views of The Remarkables, Cecil Peak and Walter Peak. With small groups limited to six passengers, there’s plenty of space to move around and learn from your guide in a relaxed, personal setting.

  • A valid NZ fishing licence is required (available on board or online)
  • Subject to a minimum of 2 adults or equivalent value to confirm
  • Maximum 6 per trip (mixed groups) per boat
  • Dress warmly and bring a waterproof jacket, sun protection and insect repellent
  • Non-slip footwear recommended
  • You may bring your own alcohol (please drink responsibly)
  • You can keep your catch if it meets local size and bag limits. The crew will assist with cleaning and preparing your fish for transport.
