The Coronet Peak Summer Gondola Sightseeing Pass is an easy way to enjoy alpine scenery just outside Queenstown. With the Coronet Peak gondola operating in summer, you can ride comfortably to 1649 metres and take in wide views over the Wakatipu Basin and towards the Southern Alps. This pass includes unlimited gondola rides for the day, so you can return to the top as often as you like during opening hours.
At the summit, step onto the viewing platform for iconic photo opportunities. The area is family friendly, with space to relax and enjoy the scenery with no alpine experience needed. If you want to stretch your legs, a short walk leads towards the summit for near 360-degree scenic views on a clear day.
Coronet Peak also offers New Zealand’s highest disc golf course during summer. Discs can be hired from Guest Services on the mountain, making it a fun add-on for groups and families. Back at the base area, Cafe 1200 is located next to the gondola and serves lunch, snacks and drinks throughout the day, with indoor seating and an outdoor deck.
