What you can expect
Embark on a thrilling Tandem Paragliding adventure in Queenstown, launching from the peak above the Skyline Gondola. Queenstown Tandem Paragliding was the first company to offer paragliding with views over Lake Wakatipu and Queenstown, and to this day is the only company that does so. There is no better and more scenic location from which your family and friends can watch you soaring up above while partaking in the various other activities available atop the Skyline.
The launch site is located at the Skyline Gondola Complex 2,500 feet above Queenstown. Ride the cable car, also known as the Gondola, up the mountainside, after which you will be introduced to your friendly pilot and escorted to the launch site. Whether you prefer a relaxing scenic experience or an adrenalin-fuelled ride full of twists and dips, your pilot can tailor the ride accordingly.
Queenstown Tandem Paragliding are the only operators allowed to launch at this site. The team is passionate about paragliding and eager to enable you to experience New Zealand in a completely new way and from a totally different perspective.

What you need to know
- A flight of a lifetime (choose between the aerobatic or scenic option)
- The Gondola ride is not included, however is available to purchase at the Skyline Queenstown base. Alternatively, you can hike up the walking track which takes about 45 minutes. Your hand will be stamped once you have checked in which allows you to ride the gondola back to the top for free
- Allow 1-2 hours
- Every hour from 10 am during daylight hours
- Check in at Skyline Queenstown, 5 minute walk from central Queenstown. You will need to catch the gondola to the top (additional cost) or walk up the track (allow 60 minutes)

- What is the minimum age and height for the G Force Paragliding in Queenstown? While there is no specific minimum age for the G Force Paragliding in Queenstown, there is a minimum weight requirement of 20kg (maximum weight is 100kgs). There are no height restrictions.
- How long will I be in the air while paragliding with G Force? On the G Force Paragliding in Queenstown, flight times vary depending on the conditions. However, we normally recommend to expect around 7-8 minutes of incredible flight time.
- Is there photo packages for G Force Paragliding in Queenstown? Yes there is a photo package for G Force Paragliding, this can be purchased directly from the paragliding team on the day.
- Can you wear/take a GoPro camera on G Force Paragliding? GoPro's are not allowed when Paragliding due to safety restrictions.
- Will the 9:30am skyline gondola get us up to the 10am Gforce paragliding on time? The paragliding pilots and other staff are aware of the time that the gondola starts as they actually need to wait until the first gondola to get up there themselves! As long as you are at the bottom of the gondola at 09:30 you will be on time
- Will I have a pilot with me on the Queenstown Gforce paragliding flight or will I be on my own? On the G Force Tandem Paragliding experience you will be flying with a trained pilot. For safety reasons, all flights go ahead with a pilot to ensure your safe return to the ground.
- Is the G Force Paragliding in Queenstown suitable for ages 74 and over, who can run very slowly? There is no upper age limit for the G Force Paragliding experience, as long as you're up for the challenge and can walk/run a few steps confidently to take off.
- How far is the walk to the run off area for G Force Paragliding in Queenstown? The walk to the G Force Paragliding take-off point is approximately 15 - 20 minutes and the run-off is 15 metres long. An average level of fitness is required.
- Where does G force Paragliding land? Gforce Paragliding lands either on the school oval or on the recreation field opposite it depending on the winds.
- You must wear closed in footwear ie trainers. No open toe footwear
- Max weight is 100kgs & minimum weight requirement is 20kgs
- Photo & video options available for purchase on the day
- Dress warmly as the air can be cold once you start flying. We have gloves & hats you can borrow but we recommend wearing warm clothes
- Flight time is weather depending
- Suitable for people of all ages (moderate level of fitness and agility required)
- A reasonable level of fitness is required as there can be a 15-20 minute hike to the take off point. There is also a 15 metre run for take off
- You will need to carry out a weather check to confirm if your flight will be operating. You can do this online or by phone
- Your flight will take you from the top of the Skyline Gondola, landing in central Queenstown. You can then return back to the top of the gondola should you choose to with your original gondola ticket
