What you can expect

Participate in a kayaking trip that will take you across one of the most beautiful mountain lakes in the Southern Alps region of New Zealand. Two excellent options depart from the shores of Glenorchy at Lake Wakatipu’s head, situated just 40 minutes from Queenstown.

Glenorchy Island Safari Depart from the shores off Glenorchy and paddle across the lake briefly, after which you will find yourself at an isolated beach on Pigeon or Pig Island. Continue on through luxuriant native beech forest and observe fascinating native birdlife and plants that can only be found on these untouched islands. After exploring the island, frolick on the beach and enjoy the provided refreshments before returning back to the mainland by kayak.
