What you can expect
Imagine an ancient landscape that has been unchanged for eons, surrounded by the craggy walls of an imposing canyon that has since time immemorial been fed by the pristine Lake Isobel. Obscured by the dense foliage of a native beech forest, the dramatic canyon seethes with life. You have the opportunity to experience all of the above on a canyoning adventure that will see you ziplining over a yawning gorge, abseiling down rocks, leaping into pristine pools, sliding through water chutes and swimming through narrow passageways. Located just ten minutes from Queenstown, this stunning part of the world is one you will want to explore in the most intimate way possible.
People at all levels of skill and experience are welcome and you do not need to have canyoned or abseiled before in order to participate. An adventurous spirit, a willingness to try the unfamiliar and a deep respect for the land are the only prerequisites for an incredible experience that begins after just an easy ten minute walk through native bushland.

- Return transfers from central Queenstown
- 2 hours canyoning
- Full safety briefing, instruction & canyoning equipment
- Tea & coffee after the trip
- Allow 4 hours round trip from Queenstown
- 8.30am & 1.00pm
- Pick up from the Adventure Centre, 39 Camp Street, Queenstown
- Operates during summer only (Oct - Apr)
- After the Half Day Canyoning Tour is there a place where we can take shower? There are changing rooms, toilets and hot showers at the Canyoning base for you to use after your Queenstown Adventurer trip. Perfect to warm up and rinse off before returning to town.
- Are rock jumps necessary to get through the Canyoning Tour? You'll need to jump off a few little rock jumps during the Canyoning Tour but nothing overly high so nothing to worry about. There is always a walk around option with all obstacles if you are not up for it.
- How strict is the weight restriction on the Half Day Canyoning Tour from Queenstown? The reason there is a weight restriction is because of the gear, and if you are over the weight restriction it may not fit.
- Minimum age is 12 years
- Maximum weight 120kg (minimum weight 40kg)
- You do not need to know how to swim to do this tour however, water confidence is required
- Moderate level of fitness required
- Please bring swimwear & a towel, all other equipment is provided
- It is also recommended to wear a warm thermal layer
- Photos are available to purchase on the day
- You are welcome to bring your Go Pro with you. Go Pro mounts are included on your helmet
- Children under the age of 16 need to be accompanied by a parent or guardian
- Children under the age of 18 must have parent or guardian signed consent
