What you can expect

Get set for pure fun from the moment you step onto the platform. The Kawarau Swing lifts you 43 metres above the river, then releases you into a huge arc across the stunning Kawarau Gorge. The drop is smooth, the speed builds fast and the ride feels like one big rush of laughter and adrenaline. Go solo, or team up in tandem or triple if you want to share the moment with mates.

Pick your crew and get ready for lift-off. The team clips you in, runs you through a quick countdown and lets gravity take over. Photos and video are included, captured from angles that show the full arc and the scenery behind you. An activity top waits at the end as your badge of honour.

Spectators are welcome and can watch from the deck, grab a coffee and enjoy the view over the gorge. For a fun, high-energy AJ Hackett experience at one of Queenstown’s most iconic spots, the Kawarau Swing is hard to beat.

Additional Information
  • You can swing solo, tandem or triple. Weight restrictions apply
  • Photo and video package included
  • You must wear closed-toe footwear (ie runners). No sandals or flip flops
  • Dress warmly, the site is sometimes sheltered from the sun
  • Minimum age is 8 years with a minimum weight of 30kg to a maximum weight of 150kg for a solo swing.
  • For tandem or triple maximum combined weight 200kg. The weight difference between tandem person must not exceed 30kg.
  • Children 14 years and under must have written consent from a parent or guardian
  • Free parking available onsite
