What you can expect
Hovering over Milford Sound in a helicopter will enable you to view the awe-inspiring scenery from a different perspective. Land on a glacier or in the mountains, weather permitting, for a unique and exciting experience. Board a vessel at Milford for a cruise that takes you down the entire length of the fiord, and then fly back to Queenstown on a fixed wing plane that takes you over the stunning Fiordland National Park. This trip is one of the most well-rounded scenic trips available and may also run in the opposite manner, starting with a plane flight, followed by a cruise and ending with a helicopter ride.
One of the most breathtaking locations on earth, Milford Sound is a beautiful fiord of incredible grandeur and beauty, carved by glaciers over thousands of centuries. The freezing cold waters run into the Tasman Sea surrounded by the soaring mountain peaks of the inimitable Fiordland National Park.
Any visitor to New Zealand is advised not to miss the wonderful Milford Sound. Other than taking a scenic flight into Milford and back, a cruise will enable you to explore the fiord as well as its stunning surrounds.

- We recommend booking for one of your first days in Queenstown so that if your flight is cancelled due to poor weather you can reschedule to another day.

- Fly / Cruise / Heli requires a minimum of 7 people accumulative across both departures. Base will coordinate numbers to aim to confirm departures.
- Child Policy: An infant / child is considered 0 – 14 years.
- Children are classed as 2-14yrs and/or over 11kgs
- Infants under 11kgs are Free of Charge (FOC) and are required to sit on an adult’s knee.
- An infant / child over 11kgs will require their own seat and be charged at the child rate.
- Children must be accompanied by a fare paying adult.
- Clients wanting to make changes are required to contact reservations 24 hours prior to departure.
- Escorts/clients wanting to make changes to dates or time of departure are required to contact Milford Sound Scenic Flights at least 24hrs prior to departure.
- No refund will be given for no shows or changes made less than 24 hours prior to departure.
- All flights operate subject to suitable weather conditions. If we are unable to fly due to unsuitable weather conditions, we will attempt to reschedule the clients. If we cannot reschedule the clients, they are entitled to a 100% refund.
