From Queenstown your driver will head towards Lake Wanaka and Hawea where you can view the glassy turquoise lakes, then on towards Lake Dunstan. Then you will enjoy a break in the small village of Makarora, situated at the base of the Mt Aspiring National Park. From Makarora you will journey through Haast Pass, viewing native beech forest and the magnificent Southern Alps before finding yourself on the West Coast, with its rugged beauty, vast rainforest, flowing waterfalls and snow capped mountains. Look out to see the coast and its raw beauty. Your driver will then take you to a boutique salmon farm on the Paringa River before your final stop in Franz Josef.

From Franz Josef village you can explore the glacier with a heli hike, helicopter flight or guided walk.
