What you can expect

Travel from Queenstown to Franz Josef on a one-way small group tour through some of the South Island’s most varied and scenic landscapes. This fully guided experience includes stops at iconic photo spots and natural wonders, from lakes and waterfalls to rugged coastline and rainforest.

After departing Queenstown, your guide will take you over the Crown Range to the historic Cardrona Hotel, then on to Wanaka for a chance to see the famous Wanaka Tree. Continue past Lake Hawea before stopping for a short walk at the Blue Pools and the towering Thunder Creek Falls.

Crossing into the West Coast via the Haast Pass, the journey winds through native forest with stops at Ship Creek, Bruce Bay and the reflective Lake Matheson. A cafe-style lunch is included in Haast, and your guide provides insights along the way to help you connect with each location.
