The combination of the breathtaking beauty of Mt Aspiring National Park and a heady adrenaline rush are unbeatable as you travel down the Bridal Stream in a variety of ways—by jumping, abseiling, ziplining and more!
Set against the stunning backdrop of Glenorchy, you will travel above the pristine turquoise waters of Lake Wakatipu to a hidden location deep in the Routeburn Valley. You will be awed and inspired by the incredible natural environment and the raw wilderness of an area not far from several locations used in the filming of the Lord of the Rings trilogy.
What sets a canyon apart from an ordinary stream is that dramatic narrow passages are lovingly worn into bedrock over hundreds, thousands or even millions of years, leaving behind exquisitely sculpted walls and gushing waterfalls.

What you need to know
- Return transfers from central Queenstown to Glenorchy (1 hour drive each way)
- Up to 3 hours canyoning
- Lunch, tea & coffee
- Full safety briefing, instruction & canyoning equipment
- Allow 8 hours round trip from Queenstown
- 9:00am from QueenstownÂ
- Check in at the Adventure Centre, 39 Camp street, Queenstown
- Operates on request Oct - April only (does not operate during winter)
- Minimum age is 15 years
- You must be able to swim to do this activity
- Maximum weight 120kg
- High level of fitness required
- Please bring swimwear & a towel, all other equipment is provided
- It is also recommended to wear a warm thermal layer
- Photos are available to purchase on the day
- You are welcome to bring your Go Pro with you. Go Pro mounts are included on your helmet
- Children under the age of 18 must have parent or guardian signed consent
- Please specify any dietary requirements when booking
