What you can expect

Departing Queenstown, take an incredible 45 minute scenic flight by fixed wing airplane across stunning vistas to Mt Cook Aerodrome. This scenic flight route will take you along the majestic Southern Alps and into the heart of th Mt Cook / Aoraki National Park. Once there, you will gear up with all the specialist equipment, board a skiplane or helicopter to head up the valley and land at the head of the Tasman Glacier, New Zealand's longest glacier! Landing at 2500m, with almost 1000m of ski descent, breathtaking views will accompany you as you ski through stunning landscapes, amongst the huge ice formations of the Tasman glacier that stretch down for 8-10km ski runs. You will spend 6 hours exploring the glacier, through two extended runs from two different landing spots. You will also receive a generous picnic lunch to keep your energy up while you ski the Tasman Glacier adventure.

Once the skiing has come to an end, you will board the fixed wing aircraft again to depart along yet another incredible scenic flight back to Queenstown, just in time for some well deserved apres ski.

The ski portion of the day is guided by the famous Alpine Guides (Aoraki), who are Mt Cook's original guiding company, with over 50 years of experience guiding not only the Tasman Glacier but the whole Aoraki Mt Cook National Park.
