What you can expect
Queenstown, New Zealand is arguably the world’s skydiving capital, and with NZONE Skydive you will be in for the experience of a lifetime—if you dare to take the plunge. The only factor that can possibly prevent you from skydiving is the fear in your mind holding you captive. Instead of trying to conquer that fear, embrace it and completely give yourself up to the exhilaration and the otherworldly experience offered by skydiving.
Freefall from 12,000ft and then parachute safely to the ground on a tandem skydive that will see you plummeting towards the stunning scenery surrounding Queenstown, one of New Zealand’s favourite skydiving destinations and home to some of the most unbelievably breathtaking scenery the world has ever seen.
On a 12,000ft tandem skydive with NZONE, you will be well taken care of as you emerge from the plane harnessed to an experienced and qualified NZONE skydive jumpmaster using the most advanced and reliable technology and materials available. Feel a final frisson of fear as you leap from the aircraft and freefall for a crazy 60 seconds or so at a shocking 200 kilometre per hour terminal velocity. Your jumpmaster can be fully relied upon to deploy your reinforced tandem canopy, on which the direction of your skydive depends, with skill and precision.
What you need to know
- Watch the pre skydive information video, helping to answer any questions you have prior to jumping
- 15-20 minute flight to 12,000ft altitude
- Up to 45 seconds of freefall (reaching speeds up to 200kph!)
- 3-4 minute flight after the parachute opens
- Breathtaking views of Queenstown
- Expert tandem master & all safety equipment
- Return transfers from central Queenstown to the dropzone (15 minutes drive from Queenstown)
- Photos and video packages available for purchase on the day of your skydive
- Allow 3.5hrs (including return Queenstown transfers)
- Regular departures from 6:30am - 2pm in summer (8am - 2pm in winter)

- What happens if my Queenstown skydiving experience is cancelled due to weather?If your NZONE Skydive Queenstown experience is cancelled due to weather conditions, you can reschedule to another day. If you are unable to reschedule, you will receive a full refund.
- Can spectators watch skydiving in Queenstown?Yes, spectators are welcome at the NZONE Skydive Queenstown dropzone. If you have your own transport, we recommend driving yourself. Occasionally, there may be space on the shuttle, but this is not guaranteed.
- What should I wear for skydiving in Queenstown? You should wear comfortable clothing such as activewear and closed-toe shoes. NZONE Skydive Queenstown provides overalls to wear over your clothes.
- Can I bring my own GoPro or camera when skydiving in Queenstown? No, personal cameras and GoPros are not permitted for safety reasons. You can purchase a professional photo and video package on the day.
- Is Queenstown skydiving available all year round and what is the best time to go? Yes, skydiving in Queenstown operates year-round. Morning jumps are generally recommended due to calmer wind conditions. Winter offers snow-capped mountain views, while autumn and spring provide clear conditions and great scenery.
- What time of day is best for skydiving in Queenstown? Morning is typically the best time to skydive, as winds are usually lighter. Booking early also gives you flexibility to reschedule later in the day if needed.
- Will we all be in the same plane if booking as a group? Yes, groups can usually fly together. NZONE Skydive Queenstown can accommodate multiple tandem pairs on the same aircraft.
- Do you skydive solo or in tandem in Queenstown? All skydives with NZONE Skydive Queenstown are tandem jumps with a qualified instructor. Solo skydiving is not available.
- Can I book photos and videos for my skydive? Yes, photo and video packages are available to purchase on the day. These are not included in the standard skydive price.
- Can I wear glasses while skydiving in Queenstown? Yes, you can wear glasses or contact lenses. Protective goggles are provided to wear over them.
- Can I buy a gift voucher for Queenstown skydiving? Yes, you can purchase an open-dated gift voucher for NZONE Skydive Queenstown through our website.
- Please bring closed shoes and comfortable, warm clothes
- Maximum weight is 95kg (209lbs). All persons over 95kg are subject to Tandem Master assessment at the drop zone.
- Minimum age of 6 years. Passengers under 18 years require written parental/guardian consent
- The minimum weight is 40kgs/88lbs and minimum height is 1.2metres/47.2inches. All passengers must fit securely into the harness. Children 12 years and under will be permitted to skydive from a maximum height of 9,000ft. All children are subject to an assessment on the day by the Tandem Master

- DVD & photo packages are available for purchase on the day at the drop zone
- As this activity is weather dependent, we recommend booking for one of your first days in Queenstown so that you can reschedule if necessary
