The Cableway Restaurant is a gem on the outskirts of Rotorua - the fully licensed restaurant and bar grants you all the glory of New Zealand’s majestic views, combined with delicious local cuisine.
This fine dining experience is held in a supremely surreal atmosphere. Enjoy the glorious 180 degree, panoramic views of the surroundings; including the city skyline, the crystal clear beauty of Lake Rotorua and the imposing views of Mt Tarawera.
The Gondola ride to your destination will leave you in awe at the beauty of the surrounding nature meets city views. The gondola ride is a thrilling experience in itself, let alone the fine dining awaiting you at the top.
Luge Also included in this awesome experience is the one of a kind luge ride – the world first, and specifically built for Rotorua. This thrilling gravity driven ride will have you screeching with joy, all the way down the varying terrain. Have a go of one or all five luge tracks, before or after your dining experience. The unique three wheeled carts have a thrilling steering and braking system, granting the rider full control. This entirely unique experience is perfect for groups, couples or the whole family.

- 5 luge rides
- Allow as much time as you want (Gondola opens at 9:00am on weekends & 10:00am on weekdays)
- Luge - 10:00am to 5:00pm
- Lunch - 11:30am to 1:30pm
- Meet at the base of the gondola building at least 10 minutes before. You can go up as early as you like to enjoy the views
- Operates daily all year
- __Is there a weight limit to the Rotorua Gondola?__ There is no limit on the gondola at Skyline Rotorua. There is just a limit of 8 people per cabin __Is it possible to drive to your restaurant?__ You will need take the Skyline gondola up to the restaurant, you are unable to dive there
- Child (6-14yrs) & Pre-Schooler (2-5yrs) rates apply
- Infants 0-1yrs travel free of charge - please advise upon booking
- Free parking at the Gondola base
- Luge rides operate at the top of the gondola during daylight hours
- Minimum height of 84cm to Luge
- Bookings for parties of LESS THAN 10 pax
- All dates other than those noted below
- No cancellation fee - More than 48 hours prior to commencement of Activities
- 100% cancellation fee - Less than 48 hours prior to commencement of Activities or if the Buyer does not turn up for Activities
- Christmas Day, New Year’s Eve, The period 7 days either side of the annual Chinese New Year date
- No cancellation fee - Over 7 days prior to commencement of Activities
- 100% cancellation fee - Less than 7 days prior to commencement of Activities or if the Buyer does not turn up for Activities
- Bookings for parties of 10 pax or more
- All dates other than those noted below
- No cancellation fee - More than 14 days prior to commencement of Activities
- 100% Cancellation fee - Less than 14 days prior to commencement of Activities or if the Buyer does not turn up for Activities
- Christmas Day, New Year’s Eve, The period 7 days either side of the annual Chinese New Year date
- No cancellation fee - Over 28 days prior to commencement of Activities
- 100% cancellation fee - Less than 28 days prior to commencement of Activities or if the Buyer does not turn up for Activities
