Hukafalls Jet in Taupo is renowned for thrilling jet boat rides. Located at Wairakei Tourist Park, Taupo, on New Zealand's Central North Island, this Qualmark endorsed experience has entertained over 895,000 people since 1990.
For a whole 30 minutes, experience unbelievable speeds, amazing 360° turns and intentional close calls with natural obstacles on this New Zealand must-do adventure. Your professional, friendly jet boat driver will entertain you with humour and skill as they whip you along the river at 80km per hour.
The jet boat ride passes Wairakei Geo-Thermal Power Station, Huka Prawn Park and Aratiatia Dam before reaching the majestic Huka Falls, with phenomenal views and fantastic photo opportunities from boat level.

What you need to know
- 30 minute exhilarating jetboat experience
- Life jackets, These are mandatory
- 30 minute Jetboat ride
- Every 30 minutes during daylight hours
- 9:30 am - 4:30 pm in summer (Oct - April)
- 10 am - 3 pm in winter (May-Sep)
- Meet at the Hukafalls Jetboat base at the Wairakei Tourist Park (10 mins north of Taupo)
- Children must be one metre tall in order to ride Hukafalls Jet
- Child rate applies to those 15 years and under
- Combine with a scenic helicopter flight & do the Hukafalls Above & Below Combo
- Hukafalls Jet will provide life jackets (these are mandatory)
- Spray jackets will also be provided in cooler months
- Cameras in cases are welcome on board but at your own risk. Video cameras are not permitted
- Coming in Summer? It is recommended to bring sunglasses & sunblock
- Coming in Winter? Remember to bring a hat, gloves, jacket & warm clothing (handrails are heated for your comfort)
