Description

Rakiura Great Walk is one of New Zealand’s top great tramping trips. The Port William leg is 3-4 hour hike one way if you take advantage of our scheduled departures

Departing from Lee Bay this stunning coastal trip with full commentary will introduce the area before dropping you off at Port William Wharf. From here you will meander along the Rakiura National Park forest discovering ancient bush, just as it was before humans arrived.

The birdlife in this region is some of the most spectacular with a minimum number of introduced pests, the native birds have continued to flourish.

Once you return to Lee Bay, you can either book a water taxi to return to Oban or continue walking along local roads before arriving back on foot. Adding the Horseshoe Point Headland loop walk adds another 1.5hours to your trek.

There is an option to enjoy this as a guided walk to dive deeper into the historic stories and biodiversity you are walking through.
