The Lakeland Queen is truly a lady of the lake and you are invited aboard for an hour of luxury!
The Lakeland Queen has been paddling Lake Rotorua since she was launched in 1986. She is New Zealand's only genuine stern wheel, shallow draft, paddle driven boat and was styled on the Mississippi River boats, due to the shallow lakebed of Lake Rotorua. This always popular cruise boat was made even more spectacular in 2006, with an extension in length of 10 metres, a full refurbishment, new kitchen, new bar, new toilets and a new dance floor. She can now comfortably carry up to 300 passengers with her two decks, making her an ideal vessel for weddings, parties and corporate events.
The Lakeland Queen scenic cruise is an absolutely perfect way to see Lake Rotorua and its surrounds. The scenery and the key landmarks – such as Ohinemutu, Kawaha Point, Mokoia Island, and Sulphur Point – are dazzling from the deck and the Lake is full of a variety of birdlife and wildlife.
Your lunch cruise includes a buffet of mouth watering food and there are two fully licensed bars on board (additional cost). Your friendly and professional Skipper will provide full live commentary during the cruise, and the helpful crew are always on hand to provide you with everything you desire, allowing you to sit back, relax and enjoy learning about this beautiful area.
