I really appreciate that the afternoon water activity had an alternate yet complimentary activity for those who did not feel comfortable paddling a single kayak in 1200 feet of ice cold water. Upon reaching Deep Cove in Doubtful Sound, you'll be welcomed aboard the Wanderer, ready to explore the breathtaking scenery of one of New Zealand's most beautiful fiords.
The Wanderer, purpose-built to navigate the serene waters of southern New Zealand, ensures a comfortable voyage with its cosy accommodations for 36 guests, modern amenities and spacious communal areas. From the viewing decks to the dining saloon and observation lounge, every space is designed for optimal viewing of Doubtful Sound on your overnight cruise.

- All food and beverage purchases aboard the vessels in Milford Sound, Doubtful Sound, Queenstown, and Te Anau, as well as at Walter Peak and the Manapouri Café, do not accept cash. A cashless system will provide a smoother, more efficient experience for both guests and staff
- Payment terminals accept all major credit cards and debit cards, including AMEX, WeChat Pay, AliPay and Union Pay, as well as contactless payment options like Apple Pay and Google Pay.
- Note: Fee of 1.5% applies to food and beverage purchases by credit card only. The fee does not apply to purchases in Retail Store at Walter Peak, or merchandise purchased from our Visitor Centres.

- On the Wanderer Doubtful Sound overnight cruise, are the bathrooms in the cabin or down the hall? There are no ensuite rooms on the Wanderer vessel but there are more than enough bathrooms/showers for the cabins with the only time to avoid being after people go swimming. There is another vessel that runs overnight trips in Doubtful Sound called the Navigator which does have ensuite rooms.

Unfortunately the Wanderer overnight cruise on Doubtful Sound doesn't offer transport but the Navigator offers transport from Queenstown, otherwise please contact us and we can arrange private transfers.
- What is the cancellation policy for the Doubtful Sound Overnight Cruise? Cancellations for the Doubtful Sound overnight cruise made within 30 days prior to the date of travel will incur a 100% cancellation fee
- What time can you board the boat prior to departure. Boarding for the Doubtful Sound overnight cruise usually starts in Manapouri from about 30 minutes prior to departure.
