What you can expect

This world first, ultimate experience takes you on a 45 minute adventure including a ski plane flight, glacier landing and helicopter flight in Aoraki Mt Cook National Park. There is nowhere else in the world that you can experience this.

Departing from the Aoraki Mt Cook airport in one machine, this Mt Cook Ski Planes & Helicopters experience soars over the Blue Glacier Lake, Hochstetter Icefall and the breathtaking summit of Aoraki Mount Cook. You then land for 10-15 minutes on the Tasman Glacier, New Zealand’s longest glacier. 

Upon landing amongst the snow and ice of the Tasman Glacier, the aircraft will completely shut down to allow time to soak up the splendour of this breathtaking environment. You are then picked up by your second aircraft for the return flight to Mount Cook Airport. Each leg will give you a breathtaking perspective of the untamed and beautiful Mt Cook region, New Zealand.

Throughout the Ultimate Alpine Experience Combo with Mt Cook Ski Planes & Helicopters, you have the opportunity to take photos of Tasman Terminal Lake, Plateau Hut, Grand Plateau, and the Tasman Glacier in full length.

  • Please arrive 45 minutes prior to your flight time
  • You will have 10-15 minutes landing time on the snow. This is enough time to take photos, play in the snow & enjoy the sheer beauty of the surrounding environment
  • If your flight is cancelled due to bad weather you can reschedule or contact us for a full refund
  • Child rates apply (0-12yrs)
  • Infants (0-3yrs) must sit on their parent's lap (seatbelt extension provided)
  • Children over 3 years must have their own seat
  • This trip requires a minimum of 4 adults to run
  • What you should bring: sunglasses, closed/covered shoes, warm clothing - it's usually around 10 degrees on the glacier so wear a couple of layers
  • Don't forget your camera for those Instagram worthy shots, but please no drones or selfie sticks
