With Skydive Mt Cook, this skydiving experience offers a heart-pounding 30 seconds of freefall, where the South Island landscapes unfold beneath you. The moment the parachute deploys, feel a wave of relief as you glide over the stunning vistas of Mount Cook, Lake Tekapo, and the Southern Alps.

What you need to know

Note
  • Please note that bookings from April 1st 2026, will incur a $20 surcharge payable on the day of your booking. Surcharges will be collected directly at check-in, at the base
Inclusions
  • Tandem skydive from 10,000ft
  • Experienced jumpmaster
  • 10-20 minute scenic flight
  • Up to 60 seconds of freefall
  • 3-5 minutes under the parachute
Duration
  • Please allow 2-3 hours for the duration of this experience
Departure Location
  • Regular departures available from 9am to 5pm
  • Departs from Skydive Mt Cook at Pukaki Airport, near Twizel
  • Operates daily all year
Additional Information
  • Please arrive 45 minutes prior to your flight time
  • Surcharge may apply if weight is over 100kgs, but this is weather dependant
  • If your flight is cancelled due to bad weather you can reschedule or contact us for a full refund
  • 10-18 year olds can jump, subject to parent/guardian consent and harnesses fitting in both height and weight
  • Options for a personal photographer to jump with you &/or your tandem jumpmaster can carry a handcam (additional cost)
