The trek is designed to be enjoyable for riders of all experience levels, including those who have never ridden a horse before. With the guidance of experienced instructors, you'll be supported throughout the journey, allowing you to fully enjoy the breathtaking landscapes. The path features a mix of gentle terrains and exciting trails, making it an unforgettable experience while taking in the stunning beauty of Moke Lake.
- If we are travelling without a car, do you have any options or recommendations on how to get to the starting point of the Moke Valley horse ride out of Queenstown? If you are travelling from Queenstown without a car to Moke Lake for the horse riding trek, the only option really is to get a taxi or Uber ride. It's about a 25 minute car trip from central Queenstown.
- Self drive required (Queenstown is 25 minutes from Moke Lake)
- Minimum age is 8 years old
- Maximum weight limit of 95kgs
- Please wear long comfortable pants, covered footwear, sunscreen/insect repellent and water bottle
- Cancellations made between 7 days and 72 hours prior to the date of travel will incur a 50% cancellation fee
- All customers must be able to understand and speak English

The views were absolutely beautiful! And what better way to see them than on horseback. Not only this, the staff were amazing, and although I’m an experienced rider we had mixed abilities in our group. And they made everyone feel so comfortable and were great as explaining everything. The horses were all great, and knew exactly what they were doing.
Absolutely amazing. Best experience, easily worth the money. The guides took photos and videos from us, made us feel so comfortable throughout our ride.
