Description
Explore the breathtaking Milford Sound by sea kayak. Milford Sound in Fiordland National Park is a remarkable sight and also known as the eighth wonder of the world for its stunning scenery. Awe inspiring peaks such as the famous Mitre Peak rise up from the surface of the calm waters and ancient rain forests hug the rugged cliff faces which roaring waterfalls travel over. The Fiord is also home to a variety of wildlife including dolphins, seals, penguins and birds.
This Milford Sound guided kayak tour involves 4-5 hours of sea kayaking. In small groups of up to 8 you will explore the fiord, paddling towards the magnificent Mitre Peak and should the weather permit you will enjoy lunch on a secluded beach (bring your own or pre purchase Optional Lunch. During the tour you will take in the fiords amazing wildlife for great photo opportunities. If there is an afternoon breeze your group will raft up the kayaks and sail back together.

- You must be water confident & moderately fit to participate in the tour
- Bring your own lunch or pre order Optional Extras - Lunch
- The minimum age is 16 years old
- We provide all specialist attire designed to keep you warm & dry. Thermal top, leggings, wetsuit vest, fleece top, paddle jacket, lifejacket, spray deck, fleece hat, paddling gloves, dry bags, double kayaks & paddles, group safety gear & hot drinks
- Bring with you a camera (at your own risk), swimwear to wear under thermals, shorts, soft shoes or sandals which will get wet, change of clothes & footwear, rain jacket, lunch, warm socks, towel, sunblock, sunglasses, hat, insect repellent, water bottle & a bag for your wet clothes
- Parking at Milford Sound is $10 per hour, payable by credit card only. This fee applies to all paved carparks. The gravel overflow carpark in Deepwater Basin is free and a courtesy shuttle to the Milford Terminal operates every 15-20 minutes between 8 am and 5:30 pm.
