A little rushed and impersonal but good day otherwise

What you can expect

Auckland’s Taste of Waiheke tour takes you on a delectable 6 hour journey through a selection of New Zealand’s top vineyards and olive groves. This truly indulgent experience will definitely make you feel like royalty for a day.

From the downtown Auckland Ferry Terminal, you will board your ferry and be carried across sparkling waters on your way to Waiheke Island. Along the way, the view of the islands of the Hauraki Gulf will captivate you with their volcanic beauty. On arrival at Waiheke Island, your friendly tour guide will greet you as you board the tour bus to your first stop – Batch Winery.

Batch Winery is the highest vineyard on Waiheke Island, with beautiful views out over the Onetangi Valley. Here, you will also enjoy a delicious 2 course lunch and glass of wine.

Next up is Mudbrick Vineyard – an absolutely gorgeous place to experience, not only for the wine, but the picturesque gardens and scenery too. A favourite wedding venue of many New Zealand couples, the garden smells as beautiful as it looks and is the pride and joy of the Mudbrick Vineyard owners. Visit the cellar door on your tour for a special wine tasting experience.

Visit is a premium Waiheke vineyard where your tastebuds will tingle with an exquisite wine tasting, all while relaxing in a beautiful setting.

Your final stop before returning to the ferry will be olive tasting at the Allpress Olive Groves, an award winning estate.

Back at the ferry terminal you will board the ferry back to Auckland, where you can sit back, relax and enjoy the incredible views along the way.

It was a lovely day out. The weather was great for the tour. We didn’t realize we had to change our voucher to paper tickets so lucky we were there early to do this, so I suggest that you include this in your instructions. Another couple missed the ferry because of this and while on the tour we had to go back and get them. The bus driver was good, friendly and informative. The olive grove was great we really enjoyed it there. The winery we went to for lunch, we were advised by the driver to be back at a certain time and we didn’t get our main meal until ten minutes before we had to leave. The appetizers couples at our table had plates of their own where as we had to share ours with the 6 of us. So we took some off the people next to us as they didn’t eat much of theirs. The second winery the cable was impersonal compared to the other two wineries and the olive grove and recommend they do something to change their tasting experience. As it was boring to be honest, felt like we were herded to a room and sat there waiting to taste all very quiet. To be honest I was expecting a little more for the price I payed for this tour. The driver did say they weren’t going to all the wineries and that we were only going to do 3.
