This unique half-day experience combines a return scenic flight with a guided 2.5 hour minibus tour, showcasing one of New Zealand’s most iconic locations without the long drive.

Departing from Kerikeri Airport, the flight takes you over Northland’s incredible harbours, beaches and Ninety Mile Beach before landing at a private airfield near Cape Reinga. Upon arrival, an air-conditioned minibus will pick you up for a 2.5-hour Cape Reinga tour, visiting the iconic lighthouse where the Tasman Sea meets the Pacific Ocean. Enjoy a light morning tea at Tapotupotu Bay, walk along the beach and visit the towering Te Paki sand dunes. Throughout the Cape Reinga tour, your knowledgeable guide will provide commentary about the area.

The return flight back to Bay of Islands offers even more spectacular aerial views over the course of 1 hour, including Parengarenga Harbour, Great Exhibition Bay and remote white sand beaches visible only by air or sea. All passengers are guaranteed a window set on Salt Air's modern aircraft, so sit back, relax and enjoy the view! You’ll also pass over the Cavalli Islands and the beautiful Bay of Islands before landing again at Kerikeri.

My sister, my daughter and I had a wonderful time on this tour. We were picked up promptly from our resort in Paihia and everything went very smoothly with the flight. The pilot was great and very friendly and was very knowledgeable and helped make this a great experience. Have already recommended to our friends and family.
