FAQs
  • Are there any accessible tours on the Christchurch Tram? Yes, you can use the Christchurch Tram in a wheelchair, but it is limited to manual wheelchairs using a specific hoist located at Cathedral Junction (Stop 1). Two of the trams can accommodate up to two manual wheelchairs at a time.
Additional Information
  • Children travel free of charge (maximum of 3 children free per adult)
  • All children 0-15yrs must be accompanied by a paying adult
  • There are currently 18 stops throughout central Christchurch
  • Trams will pause at every stop, so there is no need to alert the driver in advance that you would like to board or disembark
  • Trams run every 10-15 minutes in summer and every 15-25 minutes in winter
  • All day pass tickets are valid for 1 calendar day
  • Last tram departs stop 1 one hour prior to closing
Cancellation Policy
  • Cancellation must be notified 48 hours in advance of any cancellation of 10 or fewer people, and seven days in advance for groups of more than 10 people
  • If notification is not provided a 25% cancellation fee will be charged to the customer or booking agent
  • Cancellations within 24 hours of departure or who does not show on the day without informing the office will be charged a 100% cancellation fee.
