Your ballooning Christchurch adventure begins with an early morning start in Methven, with 4WD transfers to the balloon launch site. Learn all about the set up & inflation of hot air balloons from the Adventure Balloons pilots, who will also provide a full safety briefing ahead of your flight. It's then time to take off and start your journey through the skies, with breathtaking views of the snow-capped Southern Alps, Canterbury Plains and stunning landscapes of the Christchurch region. You will also float over Mt Hutt, a popular South Island ski field in New Zealand.
After experiencing the magic of ballooning in Christchurch, your pilot will start your descent to the nearest landing point. There, you will be greeted by a celebratory drink and nibbles before returning back to Methven.

- We meet in Methven at the bus stop at the time, indicated on your ticket.
- The meeting point for this experience is roughly 116a Main Street, Methven, at the bus stop. There is a parking area at meeting point.
- Is the Methven-Mt Hutt Scenic Balloon Flight near Christchurch suitable for people with limited mobility? The Hot Air Balloon Flight with Methven Adventures Balloons will require participants to climb up and over the basket. While it's easy to manage foot and hand hold, it would require some level of physical mobility to climb in.

- Please bring enclosed flat shoes (sandals & high heels are not suitable), camera, hat & sunglasses
- Please wear an extra warm layer & dress according to the season
- Child rates apply (5-13yrs)
- Minimum age is 5yrs
- Children must be accompanied by a paying adult
- Please advise us upon booking if you have any medical issues or are pregnant
- Groups are capped at 12 participants
- Light winds, good visibility and an acceptable cloud base are required for the flight to go ahead. If your flight is cancelled due to bad weather you can reschedule or contact us for a full refund
