From Nelson to Golden Bay, the 4 Day Abel Tasman Getaway is packed with outdoor activities, pristine beaches and breathtaking scenery. Visit the golden sands of Kaiteriteri Beach and gain an introduction into the beauty of Abel Tasman National Park on a 4 hour private sailing trip around its surrounding bays. This is an amazing chance to get to know your Backyard Roadies group and share a drink onboard while just taking it all in. The water activities don’t stop there, with a return water taxi ride, full day kayaking tour and plenty of time to swim and relax on a secluded beach on Day 2 of your Abel Tasman Getaway. Abel Tasman is teeming with wildlife, so don’t forget to look out for native birds, cheeky seals and penguins!

The picturesque Wharariki Beach is located near Cape Farewell, the northernmost point of the South Island, and this is where you are heading on the next leg of your 4 Day Abel Tasman Getaway. Enjoy a day trip exploring the scenery from Marahau up to Wharariki Beach via the clear waters of Te Waikoropupu Springs and delicious food & drinks in Golden Bay. Then, after an epic few days of cruising, kayaking and beach hopping with your Backyard Roadies group in Abel Tasman, the final day is spent slowly making your way back to Nelson. Stop off at the sacred place of ‘Riuwaka Resurgence’ and Mapua Wharf, a hot spot for swimming and ideal for one final lunch together.

• Bring a medium-sized bag for clothes & belongings (this will be locked in the trailer)
• Bring a small day bag to carry water, snacks & an extra layer
• Packing essentials: dry bags (for clothes in kayak), swimwear, towel, hat, sunglasses, sunscreen, hat, insect repellent, warm clothes, rain jacket & a few pairs of shoes (e.g. jangles & trainers/walking shoes)
• Minimal level of fitness required, the pace of the kayaking tour is adjusted to suit the group
