What are the best activities in Auckland?
The Sky Tower is arguably Auckland’s most iconic landmark. Standing at 328 metres tall you will not be able to miss it! A trip to the top of the Sky Tower will give you spectacular views over the whole city and if this isn’t enough, you can try out AJ Hackett’s SkyWalk which will take you on a platform around the outside of the tower. Better still, why not leap off the tower and do the insane Auckland SkyJump? The rush is unbeatable! For those adrenaline junkies out there who think that this is not high enough, then you'll be pleased to know that Auckland is home to New Zealand’s highest skydive (20,000ft). Try out this awesome jump with Auckland Skydive with a spectacular and unique backdrop of both the east and west coast of New Zealand!
Being a city nestled between two harbours, Auckland also has some great sailing trips on offer. A day trip out to Waiheke Island will not disappoint. Not only will you get to enjoy a scenic cruise to this beautiful Island and spend the day checking out the beaches and scenery, Waiheke Island is full of vineyards and that means wine! Now what could be better than a day on a beautiful island sampling some of New Zealand’s finest wines or try the epic Waiheke Zipline.
Being on the harbour, Auckland is also home to some great water activities. Auckland Sea kayaking is a great way to explore the region. Take a kayaking trip to Rangitoto Island where you can see one of Auckland's many inactive volcanoes!
