Description
Explore Queenstown's backcountry roads on a cycling tour from Mt Nicholas farm to Walter Peak. Begin your day with a cruise on the Spirit of Queenstown, across Lake Wakatipu to Mt Nicholas High Country Farm as you take in spectacular views of the Remarkables and surrounding scenery. On the way to Mt Nicholas, you will have a brief stop at Bob's Cove to view the flora and fauna along with views towards Glenorchy and Mt Earnslaw.
From Mt Nicholas you will take a 14 km bike ride to Walter Peak Homestead, travelling along backcountry roads with panoramic alpine views. Once you arrive at the homestead you will return to Queenstown on "The Lady of the Lake" the vintage TSS Earnslaw.
Trip Includes
- Cruise to Mt Nicholas Farm on board the Spirit of Queenstown
- 1 hour & 30 minute self guided 14km cycle on easy, rolling terrain along quiet backcountry roads
- Return lake cruise from Walter Peak to TSS Earnslaw
- Bike & helmet hire (optional extra)

- Quiet back country road through mostly gently rolling terrain
- Moderate fitness required, gentle 14km cycle
- Bring a warm, waterproof jacket, wear shorts or light trousers & comfortable footwear suitable for cycling. Don’t forget insect repellent, sunscreen & camera
- Suitable for children 5 years & over
