Description

A trip to New Zealand is not complete without visiting Milford Sound. Commonly known as ‘the eighth natural wonder of the world’, this is a trip that you do not want to miss! With Southern Discoveries, you can experience this natural beauty from above, on and below the surface with their cruise and kayak trip. 

Upon arrival at Milford Sound you will embark upon a 2-hour relaxing Nature Cruise along the Fiordland and out to the Tasman Sea stopping at waterfalls along the way. Bring your rain coats for this one as you get a splash from the mighty Stirling Falls! Your nature guides will also provide you with commentary and help you spot some of Milford Sound’s most famous wildlife including seals, dolphins and penguins! A picnic lunch will also be provided on the boat.

Following your cruise, you will get to experience this magnificent Fiordland by kayak. You will enjoy 2 hours of guided kayaking in a secluded cove with experienced guides who will get you so immersed in the nature you can reach out and touch the water! You may even get lucky and have a close encounter with some of the local marine life! This guided kayak is suitable for all fitness levels and no previous experience is required. Before heading back to Queenstown, you will also get the chance to experience Milford Sound below the surface with a visit to the Milford Sound Underwater Observatory.

• Children aged 5-14 years must be accompanied by an adult in a double kayak
• Please bring a warm jacket and wear comfortable, non-slip shoes, insect repellant, sunglasses, hat, warm clothing and water
• All kayaking equipment is provided

• A Milford Sound Tourism and Department of Conservation levy of $10 per adult is included in the displayed price. This goes towards maintaining facilities in Milford Sound and conservation projects in Fiordland
