Description
Milford Sound is the jewel of New Zealand and what better way to experience it than a scenic flight, cruise on the fiord and a guided walk on a section of the Milford Track. On the Fly, Walk, Cruise, Fly tour you will begin with a scenic flight from Queenstown airport over the Wakatipu Basin and out to Milford Sound. Your pilot will smoothly navigate you into the mouth of the fiord for awe inspiring views of mountains, waterfalls and the glistening ocean beneath you. The views are simply stunning from this vantage point.
Once you land in Milford you will enjoy a short boat ride to the starting point of your walk on the Milford Track - Sandfly Point! Your guides will take you on a 3.5 hour walk along the track to the half way point known as Giant Gate waterfall whilst providing you with their wealth of knowledge on the surrounds.
Following the walk you will head back to the boat terminal to board your Mitre Peak Cruise which will take you out as far as the mouth of Milford Sound, along the way taking in the Bowen Falls, Mitre Peak and more. For wildlife lovers keep an eye out for the locals - seals, Fiordland Crested Penguins, dolphins and a variety of bird life.
If all that wasn't enough adventure for you, you then get to enjoy another scenic flight back to Queenstown, this time taking in the Sutherland Falls as well as more mountains, glaciers, lakes and forests before landing back in Queenstown.
