Grab your bike from the team at Mountain Bike Rotorua and jump on one of the in-forest daily public “WHAKA WAKA” shuttle buses (additional cost). This gets you to the higher reaches of the forest, where you will find a variety of mountain bike trails ready to explore. Whether you are an occasional weekend warrior or a pro-level downhill racer, you can hone your mountain biking progression on the trails with Mountain Bike Rotorua.

• Hardtail bikes are suitable for trails up to Grade 4 in difficulty (Giant Talon model)
• Full suspension bikes are suitable for all levels, including technical trails (Reign 29er or Trance X 29er model)
• E-bike models include - Trance X E+ Pro 29 3, Trek Rail 7 & Talon E+ 3 29
• Kids full suspension bikes are designed for riders 145-165cm tall, suitable for technical terrain
• Shuttle tickets available to purchase on the day from Mountain Bike Rotorua shop
• Extras such as knee/shin/elbow pads, SPD pedals and full face helmet upgrade available to purchase on the day
• Whakarewarewa Forest is suitable for all bike riders
• Minimum height 145cm
• E-bike extra battery is subject to availability
• You must be able to ride a bike
• Please wear closed in footwear, shorts & a couple of layers on your top half
• Bring water & snacks to carry with you while riding
