Latest Questions about Skydiving - Skydive Auckland (Auckland)

Hi,
I'm coming to NZ on a work trip in about a month and am looking at coming a day early to skydive - I noticed the FAQ's said the jump is weather dependent, however if the weather does not permit the jump I will not have the luxury of rescheduling due to my short stay in Auckland. Just wondering if refunds are an option should this occur?

Hi I am looking at booking a tandem Sky dive for my partner as a gift. It will be his first time doing it and was wondering if it is possible for him to do the 13,000ft jump?

Comments

Yes first time skydivers can choose any of the 3 jump heights to tandem skydive from in Parakai. You can book via Book Now button and we will email your booking confirmation straight back. You can choose to self drive to Parakai or get the free transfers from central Auckland.

Hey, My sister and I are both interested in skydiving. However our parents will be tagging along but not going for it, can they still come?

Comments

Yes if you want to tandem skydive in Auckland your parents can watch you but you will need to make your own way out to the skydive dropzone in Parakai. There are free city transfers but this for skydivers only and there is no space in the van for spectators. Parakai is about an hours drive from the centre of Auckland.

Hi,

My aunt is accompanying me along the trip but she doesn't want to do skydiving. Can she tag along during the whole skydive experience?

Am I allowed to use my own GoPro?

Comments

Go pros are not allowed to be used at the Auckland skydive dropzone or any other commercial skydive locations around New Zealand unfortunately as you need to be a trained skydiver to be able to use them safely during freefall. They can pose a risk to you, your jump master and people on the ground if they were to come lose and fall. Also, the footage you would get if you filmed yourself would be pretty rubbish compared to what a trained skydive photographer can do for you.

Hi there
I just wondering if I book 2:00pm for skydiving, and we need the pick up service from central Auckland. Then what time we need to arrive at the bus pick up stop?

Comments

If you require transfers from town for the Auckland skydive then you must book the 9am departure which means you will be picked up from outside the Sky Tower at 9am and dropped back to town by 1pm. If you would like to skydive in the afternoon then you will need to drive yourself to Parakai which is about an hour north of the city.

Can we carry our own gopro?

Comments

In general, it is not allowed for tandem skydivers in Auckland or around the rest of New Zealand to carry go pro cameras or any other items with them while skydiving as this poses a big health and safety risk for your jump master and people on the ground. Photos are available to purchase on the day.

What are the hours tandem skydiving is available? Also, how long does everything take?

Comments

Hi Sarah, if you are driving yourself out to the Skydive Auckland drop zone then you can skydive between the hours of 9am-3pm. If you do drive yourself then you will need to allow 2 hours to complete your skydive. If you need transfers from Auckland then there is a shuttle that leaves at 9am and you will need to allow 4 hours for the experience.

How long the skydive take to complete start to finish??

Comment by: Sarina on 13th Sep 15 at 18:29

If you require the free return transfers from central Auckland then the entire trip takes 4 hours (pick up at 9am and return by 1pm). It is 1 hour each way to the skydive drop zone and you spend about 2 hours on site getting ready for and doing your tandem skydive.
