Waiheke Explorer Tour Auckland

Latest Questions about Waiheke Explorer Tour (Auckland)

Is this tour still operating? Are there stops for photos etc. Does it visit any wineries or potteries etc. I would like to bring two overseas visitors and prefer not to have to drive them around so I can enjoy scenery as well. I am a NZ senior citizen

Yes the Waiheke Explorer tour operates daily from Auckland however it has changed recently to include a hop on hop off bus on the island. Boats depart the Auckland ferry terminal at 10am, 11am and 12pm and you can stay on the island as long as you want as there is a new hop on, hop off service which operates hourly to and from Waiheke island. Once on the island you can use the bus all day and get on and off as you please as it navigates the sights of Waiheke. Introducing you to the island’s top spots; hop on and off as much as you like at any of its 8 convenient stops which include vineyards, beaches and restaurants. If you prefer, stay on board and enjoy a 1½ hour scenic tour of the island. The double decker buses stop at some of the island’s iconic spots including Oneroa Village, Onetangi Beach, Batch Winery, the new Tantalus winery/brewery, Mudbrick Vineyard, Cable Bay Vineyard, Matiatia Wharf and more. The round trips is about 1.5 hours but you can get on and off as you please and spend the entire day there.
