Description
Getaway from the hustle and bustle of Auckland City and get transported to Auckland's heritage wine country, Kumeu. Experience an afternoon of wine tasting and enjoy a contemporary Vineyard Lunch. Enjoy scenic views of Muriwai Beach and the coastline.
This relaxed and enjoyable wine tour departing Auckland is perfect for both novice wine tasters through to a budding Connoisseur.
Your first stop will take you to the Soljans which is an award winning property known for their method traditionelle sparkling wines. Here you will be able to enjoy your delicious vineyard lunch, in a location that is all about making the most of the sun. The food is inspired by the Mediterranean, but with a Kiwi twist that champions fresh seasonal produce from around the region.
The next location is the Coopers Creek vineyard which offers fantastic wines from New Zealand's best regions. Coopers Creek produce a wide variety of wines and are known for their daring choice of grapes and blends.
Following this, you will visit one of the special places in the region called Muriwai Beach. This is an amazing beach spot, which showcases the outstanding view from Auckland's west coast beaches. During the months of August to April, you will also have the opportunity to see one of the world’s largest seabirds, the gannet, in its natural environment. At that time of year, Muriwai is home to one of the few mainland gannet nesting sites in the world situated on the cliff-tops overlooking the Tasman Sea.
The final stop is the idyllic West Brook Winery which looks across a stunning duck pond and terraced picnic area to rows upon rows on vines. These wine truly demonstrate a varietal character and their unique regional origins.
