My recent visit to the Te Anau Glow Worm Caves was nothing short of magical. The adventure began with a short cruise across Lake Te Anau, the South Island's largest lake, surrounded by rising peaks and ancient forest. The tranquility of the lake set the perfect stage for the mystery that lay ahead.

Upon reaching the caves, our group was ushered into an ancient world of spectacular rock formations and echoing waterways, carved out over hundreds of years. The real highlight began as we boarded a small boat and glided silently through the dark, water-filled 'secret grotto'. Above us, the cave ceiling transformed into a dazzling display of bioluminescence, with thousands of glow worms illuminating our path like a starry night sky.
