Craving a bit of adventure tourism but stuck in the Auckland big city lifestyle? This trip is made for you. Take a trip into the deep underground of the Waitomo Caves and experience the thrill of Black Water Rafting and the sights of Hobbiton this adventure filled full day tour from Auckland city. Departing from Auckland in the morning a comfortable 11 seater van or 24 seater mini bus will take you on a scenic drive south of Auckland. Watch the sky scrapers and building disappear, revealing the lush green country landscape.
First up is one of New Zealand’s most famous and iconic sites – Hobbiton. You’re knowledgeable guide will take you on a tour of the Hobbiton village, making sure to stop along the way sharing exclusive commentary about the films and set, as well as the interesting characters who have visited over the year. Don’t forget to pack your camera, there will be plenty of opportunities for photos!
A trip to Hobbiton wouldn’t be complete without ticking off the famous sites such as the Shire, the field where Bilbo’s Birthday Party was held and The Green Dragon Inn where you will finish the tour with time to spare for a exclusive Hobbiton beverage.
The journey isn’t over just yet, back in the coach it is for the trip down to Waitomo, after arriving – jump on the original Waitomo Black water rafting tour through the enchanting Ruakuri Cave. Your experienced and highly trained guide will give you a rubber tube and take you on an unforgettable underground adventure. From jumping into cascading underground waterfalls, to sitting back and relaxing as your float under thousands of little glowworms that turn these dark caverns into gorgeous turquoise tunnels, this trip has something for everyone!
After your tour, refresh with a Hot shower and a complimentary hot soup and bagel and you driver will return you back to Auckland in the evening.
