Te Puia is a fascinating geothermal wonderland in Rotorua that combines extraordinary natural attractions with sharing New Zealand’s rich cultural narrative. On this Rotorua experience, one of the highlights is the world famous Hangi buffet lunch, which infuses Maori flavours with a range of global cuisines. This creates a unique flavour and there is no better place to enjoy delicious 'kai' than next to some of the best Rotorua attractions.

The Te Rā guided tour of the Te Puia geothermal park grants you access to the New Zealand Māori Arts & Crafts Institute, Rotowhio Pā, Kiwi Conservation Centre and Te Whakarewarewa geothermal valley - including the Pōhutu Geyser (the largest geyser in the southern hemisphere). This famous Rotorua geyser erupts approximately 20 times a day, with the water and steam often reaching heights of 30 metres. Beneath Pōhutu lies the 'Blueys'. This affectionately named cobalt blue lake is a result of silica produced from the Pōhutu Geyser, which then runs from the geyser terrace to the lake.

Information about the experience was accurate and confirmed tickets with meeting instructions arrived shortly after booking.

We thought this experience was a little bit expensive, or out of our budget, but it was absolutely worth every penny (or cent). The buffet lunch was fantastic with a huge choice of dishes, the restaurant overlooked the geysers and their amazing landscape. It was a very beautiful and unrushed experience. Then we had the tour which was really well done. Not too much walking taking in a kiwi house (we did see one) and then the geysers. The big one didn’t perform for us but we had seen it doing its stuff from the restaurant so weren’t too disappointed. The tour of the arts institute was fascinating, with a chance to see finished pieces up close in the gallery. We loved it from start to finish.

how do i know what time my table is booked for lunch

Lunch commences shortly after finishing your 90 minute guided your, which means you should be eating lunch about 1pm.
