Description
Back in 1927 Albert Ernest Fuller acquired the local cream delivery route around the Bay of Islands. The purpose of the trip was to deliver mail and supplies to island residents. The route was known as the 'Cream Trip' by locals and was developed into a tour after great interest from locals and tourists alike wanting to go along for the ride. Today the route is still followed to show off the best of the Bay on a relaxing Cream Trip Super Cruise. It is the perfect cruise for nature lovers and provides a fascinating history on the Bay of Islands.
Marvel at the spectacular views of the 144 islands, abundant in natural beauty and marine life, as the comfortable catamaran travels out through the islands dropping off deliveries on the way. See the impressive Black Rocks and Marsden Cross, where the first Christian sermon in New Zealand was held in 1814.
On this cruise, you will also get to travel through the iconic Hole in the Rock and see Cape Brett Peninsular - making this the ultimate Bay of Island experience. Look out for dolphins, whales and other marine wildlife in their natural environment.
You'll even have the chance to try out boom-netting - an exciting activity on the boat where you get to ride in a sturdy net at the back of the vessel. This option is only available when conditions allow.
On arrival at Otehei Bay, step ashore onto Urupukapuka Island and enjoy 1.5 hours of free time relaxing on the beach, swimming or take a walk to the top of the hill to see stunning panoramic views of the entire bay. Lunch can be purchased at the island cafe, or feel free to bring your own.
