During this 90 minute Lake Tekapo stargazing tour, you will have access to a powerful 9.25" telescope - reminiscent of the one owned by the great Stephen Hawking himself! A professional astronomy guide operates the telescope for you, revealing the mysteries of the solar system and deep sky objects, providing an educational and mesmerizing experience. The tour takes place by the Tekapo River, just a 4 minute drive from Lake Tekapo's centre.
Photos can be captured under the dark, starry sky with yourself, friends & family, which will be edited and sent to you by the Chameleon Stargazing team after the tour - free of charge!
It can get a little cold at night, so stay cosy during the tour with outdoor furniture, pillows, mattresses, and blankets provided for comfort. And Lake Tekapo's chilly nights are no match for the warm and delicious hot chocolate provided, keeping you toasty warm as up gaze at the night sky. And as the tour concludes, you will gather around the fire bowl to roast marshmallows with friends and family, adding a delightful touch to the stargazing adventure.
