Description
The Walter Peak Eco Experience combines history, conservation and fantastic scenery at Walter Peak High Country Farm Station, an eco destination across the lake in Queenstown. Begin your journey with a 45 minute cruise aboard the iconic TSS Earnslaw Steamship, where you will disembark and meet your knowledgeable rural host. From there, your Walter Peak Eco Experience will start with a guided tour through the Restaurant Garden, showcasing the farm's homegrown produce and native plants.
As part of the Walter Peak Land Restoration Project, you’ll have the opportunity to plant a native tree or shrub, leaving a lasting contribution to this unique conservation effort. After this hands-on activity, relax with a light lunch, featuring delicious treats made from homegrown and locally sourced ingredients.
This eco-focussed Queenstown experience at Walter Peak also allows time to stroll along the reforested peninsula, explore the lakeside gardens and learn about the history and sustainability efforts of the farm. When the Walter Peak Eco Experience comes to a close, you'll board the TSS Earnslaw Steamship for your return cruise back across Lake Wakatipu to Queenstown.
