Dive into the world of movie magic with the Weta Workshop Tour in Wellington, a must-do experience for film buffs visiting New Zealand's capital. Located 15 minutes drive from central Wellington, this 90 minute guided tour takes you behind the scenes of one of the film industry’s leading special effects companies. Your journey begins at the Weta Cave store, where you’ll check in, meet your guide and embark on a small group tour through the Weta Workshop. Along the way, explore displays of creatures, costumes and miniatures (and much more!), while learning about the creative techniques used to bring them to life. If you’re lucky, you might even catch an artist at work!
After the tour, take your time to look around the Weta Cave shop, which is full of books, merchandise, collectables and even a mini-museum showcasing some of the Weta Workshop’s creations.
