Where is the best place to skydive in New Zealand?

What better way to experience the 100% pure wonderland that is New Zealand than through a birds eye view as you freefall from a plane in the name of skydiving! Whilst skydiving is an absolute #NZMustDo when exploring the clean, green wilderness, the question is, where is the best place to skydive in New Zealand?
From the turquoise paradise of the Bay of Islands to the picturesque resort town of adventure laden Queenstown and everywhere in between, skydiving will allow you to fearlessly take on the view. The unique and stunning landscape that New Zealand is known for creates an exciting and intense skydive experience. If it’s the Bay of Islands where you choose to take the plunge then you’ll be treated to a spectacular view stretching 144 subtropical islands.
Move south to Auckland, a major frantic city in the North Island and home to the iconic Sky Tower, where you will soar high above the madness on the fringe of the city with views spanning the Hauraki Gulf, Waitemata Harbour and beyond.
If it’s a volcanic oppressed outlook you’re after then head to Great Lake Taupo, a volcanic caldera that drains into the Huka Falls. The crystal blue mass encompasses dotted hot springs displaying a fresh, crater like view.
Abel Tasman, home of golden sand beaches, a lush wilderness reserve covering two national parks and jagged peaks feeding powerful cascades, guarantees your skydive experience to be a picturesque plunge. Situated at the north end, at the top of the South Island you will be swamped by astonishing 360 degree views embracing both the North and South islands.
Further south, soar high above the majestic Canterbury Plains with Skydive Ashburton and admire the patchwork quilt like shades of green that bask between the Southern Alps and the Pacific Ocean. Get a glimpse of the braided rivers that define this thriving agricultural paradise.
Venture south to the picture perfect location of Central Otago. Here you’ll be struck with numerous jump options, first up Skydive Wanaka. Be prepared for thrilling views with up to six alpine lakes, the rugged and encompassing Southern Alps, spectacular Mt Cook and the mighty Clutha, South Island’s longest river.
Over the Crown Range, New Zealand’s highest main road, you’ll discover sister city Queenstown, another buzzing picturesque lakeside adventure land offering the ever popular Nzone skydive. Embrace the fear and experience the thrill of skydiving high above Wakatipu basin where you will be treated to a birds eye view of the dramatic neighbouring mountains including the famous jagged Remarkables mountain range.
For more unbeatable views but a slightly more remote location head to the northern shores of Lake Wakatipu to Glenorchy where you can take the leap with Skydive Paradise, home of Middle-earth magic.
So, you can see that no matter where you choose to take the plunge in the land of the long white cloud you won’t be disappointed. Treated to some of the world’s most spectacular locations you simply can’t get it wrong however my pick would have to be Nzone in Queenstown or Skydive Wanaka. The beautiful terrain of the Southern Lakes showcasing the dramatic Southern Alps really is unbeatable.

Skydive Taupo was my favorite activity in NZ. The limo ride, the nice staff, and the views are incredible!!
