Departing from Golden Bay, the Raikiura water taxi will travel across the picturesque Paterson Inlet to arrive at the world's most southern open bird sanctuary to enjoy a self guided tour of Ulva Island.
Ulva Island has an abundance of endangered plants and birds including the Stewart Island robin, kakariki, saddleback, and mohua (yellowhead).
Create your own schedule by picking up a self guide booklet from our booking office before you depart and spend as long as you like exploring the sandy beaches and rocky outcrops that surround the island. The Rakiura Charters water taxi service is on demand so your pick up time can be arrange to suit you or the littlier legs in your family.
Pack a picnic for the day and you might be lucky enough to spot a Stewart Island Brown Kiwi (Tokoeka) while you rest for lunch.
