Hi, I'll be 22 weeks pregnant when in Franz Josef, and I understand most companies don't take pregnant patrons. Do you allow pregnant patrons on your heli hike?

Comments

Heya, Unfortunately no pregnant ladies are allowed on the heli hike for safety reasons.

Hello, I would like to know how difficult the heli hike tour is. I am 60 of reasonable fitness , I have had a knee replacement 18 months ago and i can comfortably do most daily activities . Your thoughts or info please.

Comments

Heya, You will need a reasonable level of fitness and the main thing is that the ground is uneven gravel/mountainous terrain. There is no climbing as such but you do need to be steady on your feet.

what's the typical temps on the glacier in mid Janurary?

Comments

The air temperature in Franz Josef in mid January is usually between 15-20 degrees celcius. It will feel colder on the glacier due to the ice under your feet so we do recommend wearing layers. If you do want to book a heli hike we recommend doing this well in advance as this is the busiest time of year and its often booked up. You can book via the Book Now button and we will email your confirmation straight back.

Hello do you allow 9 year olds to do your heli hikes as I see the minimum age on your website is 10 years, but other helihike companies' minimum age is 9. We are a family of four, children aged 13 and 9. I am looking for a helihike for Mon 21 Dec. Thank you.

Comments

Apologies for the confusion. Yes you are correct, the minimum age to do the heli hike on Franz Josef Glacier is actually 8 years of age, not 10.
