Explore beautiful Mount Ngongotaha on a horse trek with an experienced guide from Adventure Playground. You'll be immersed in the stunning trails that span over rolling farmland, scattered with native bush and teeming with wildlife. Soak up the magical views overlooking Lake Rotorua and its surrounds. There is a Rotorua horse trek to suit all abilities and riders from the age of 8 upwards. 

Cody's Trek – 30min ride
Cody's Trek is ideal for beginner riders 8 years and older. Enjoy a gentle trek meandering through the lower slopes of Mount Ngongotaha surrounded by beautiful scenery. This easy going 30 minute horse trek is the ideal taster for novice riders all the while experiencing New Zealand countryside at its best on a working farm. 

Cruizer's Trek - 60min ride 
The 60 minute Cruizer trek is perfect for those who have ridden before. Explore even more of Rotorua's beautiful countryside and Mount Ngongotaha. Trek some of the higher trails laden with beautiful native bush and wildlife all the while boasting superior views of Lake Rotorua. This trek is suitable for those with some riding experience who are aged 12 years and older.

• Cody's Trek - allow 1 hour
• Cruizer's Trek - allow 1.5 hours

Departures

• 10am, 11.30am 2pm & 3.30pm
• Departs from your city centre hotel or meet at Adventure Playground Rotorua, 451 Ngongotaha Road, Ngongotaha, Rotorua (6kms out of town)
• Operates daily all year

• There is a 10 minute hand led pony trek option for kids 4 years + for an introduction to riding. If you are interested in this option please contact us
